Painting
Shakila is returning to painting after a hiatus of many decades. She explains this as ‘painting returning after having left’. She is developing a series of sketches ‘Dark Skies’ on poverty and homelessness. Proceeds of any sales will go to a chosen charity. Her second project, much larger in scale is a series of oil and mixed media paintings on the life of her mother, Akhtar Sultana.
